Why Choose Condor Moving Systems for Local Moves?
You have many local moving companies in Dallas to choose from, but not all are created equal. Condor Moving Systems has earned two of the highest moving industry certifications to separate us from the competition. Our company is a recognized ProMover with the American Moving and Storage Association and holds Pinnacle Mover status through the Southwest Movers Association, a distinction that less than 30 out of 800 moving companies hold. We’re fully insured and licensed by the Texas Department of Transportation for local moves. We also offer a single point-of-contact to streamline the local moving process and a 24-hour emergency customer line for your convenience.
Am I Responsible for Packing My Own Belongings?
As part of our customizable moving solutions, we can include professional packing and crating services for those who don’t want the hassle of packing their own belongings. Our competitively priced partial- and full-packing services are usually completed within a few hours to a day. We use mover-grade packing materials to keep your contents safe and sound. Custom-built crates are available to protect fragile items, including mirrors, paintings, antiques, flatscreen televisions, motorcycles, and more.
How Do You Protect My Furniture During the Move?
Our state-of-the-art moving fleet features air ride suspension and strapping systems to keep furniture and other items secure during your local move. We also offer blanket-wrapping using heavy-duty moving pads for all furniture pieces to protect them from damage, including nicks and scratches.
Do You Supply Packing Materials for Local Moves?
From cardboard moving boxes to scotch tape and bubble wrap, our company sells moving supplies in our online store for your convenience. Be sure to take advantage of our partial- and full-packing services available by request. If you need somewhere to store your belongings before moving day, we also offer short-term and long-term storage solutions in our 20,000-square-foot climate-controlled warehouse.
Do You Require an Inventory of Items Being Moved?
Yes, this is for your protection and our efficient planning. Our moving consultants will go over a moving checklist with you that includes making an inventory of the items being moved. Knowing how many items need to be moved ahead of time allows us to plan for the proper manpower, moving supplies, and moving trucks. It also ensures everything safely reaches the new location, as our local movers check off each item on the inventory as they unload the trucks. Going over your new floor plan early is also beneficial for our moving team, as it gives us an idea of any obstacles we may face while loading or unloading your items, such as stairs to navigate. Marking boxes for designated rooms will also make unpacking easier for you after we leave. Get more useful moving tips in our blog!
Are There Any Items Your Local Movers Won’t Move?
Condor Moving Systems is focused on safe moving protocols for our local movers. We will not move anything deemed a hazardous material that could be flammable or explosive. Examples of hazardous non-allowable items include acids, aerosols, car or household batteries, paint thinner, fireworks, pesticides, pool chemicals, and propane tanks. We will also not move anything considered perishable, including frozen or refrigerated foods, open food products, and plants.
Can Your Local Movers Handle Pianos and Fragile Items?
Yes, our local movers are trained to handle special care items, including pianos, grandfather clocks, antiques, and pool tables. Your moving consultant can provide you with an estimate for moving these fragile or bulky items, which may require specialized equipment for their safe transport.
Do Your Local Movers Assemble and Disassemble Furniture?
Yes, we can include furniture assembly and disassembly services in our customized local moving services. However, we will not assemble or disassemble any ready-to-assemble (RTA) or pressed-wood furniture, bunk beds, or cribs. We ask that you handle their assembly and disassembly for safe transport.
Can You Connect and Disconnect Appliances and Electronics?
Due to safety issues, we cannot disconnect or connect major appliances or electronics. We will also not connect or disconnect playground or swing sets, trampolines, or exercise equipment.
How Should I Prepare for My Local Move Across Texas?
When you entrust your local move to Condor Moving Systems, your personal moving consultant will handle all the logistics. You’ll want to consult our moving checklist to ensure you’re taking the proper steps prior to moving day. About eight weeks before your move, you should call us to obtain a moving quote and reserve our moving services. At least six weeks before your move, you’ll want to meet with us to go over the costs and arrange for any extra services. Four weeks before your move is the time to begin packing and sorting your household goods, discarding or donating any unwanted items. About three weeks before your move, you should contact your utility companies to transfer services or make arrangements with us for concierge services if you want us to handle these details for you. You’ll also want to notify the post office and your employer and healthcare providers of your change of address. If you have pets, plants, or perishable items, be sure to make your own arrangements to transport these items. View our useful links section to make your moving experience hassle-free.
What Happens if My Items Are Lost or Damaged During Moving?
At Condor Moving Systems, we take every precaution possible to protect your belongings during transport. However, accidents do sometimes happen, and we provide moving coverage options to replace lost or damaged items. The most economical protection available is release value coverage (minimum carrier’s liability), which assumes liability and bases claims on the weight of the article multiplied by 60 cents per pound. We also offer full value protection coverage, which bases claims on the weight of the article multiplied by $6 per pound. The full value protection coverage minimum is $15,000 with a $500 deductible. What Are Your Minimum Labor and Equipment Requirements?

We also base our local moving services on a minimum of one hour of travel time. Having the right number of local movers and trucks ensures your move stays on schedule with minimal risks to your valuables. We always have enough manpower on-site to ensure nothing gets broken due to someone trying to lift something that’s too heavy for them or due to someone rushing through the job.
