Movers in New Braunfels, TX: Local and Long-Distance Moving

New Braunfels Movers

Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels founded New Braunfels in 1845 beside the Comal Springs, and the town still carries the German Texan heritage of those first settlers. It is the seat of Comal County, reaches into Guadalupe County, and sits on I-35 about 32 miles northeast of San Antonio, with Austin about an hour up the road. Few Texas cities have grown faster. New Braunfels was the third-fastest-growing city in the country from 2010 to 2020, and the Census Bureau's 2025 estimate of 122,492 residents is far above the 90,403 counted in 2020. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover that has used its own trucks and its own employees since 2003. We handle moves within New Braunfels, moves between New Braunfels and the rest of the San Antonio or Austin area, and long-distance moves to other states.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.

Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!

New Braunfels moving costs

Local moves in New Braunfels are hourly, from $175 an hour for two movers and a truck. The four-hour minimum includes labor and a trip charge, which we figure case by case when we quote, the same as our San Antonio movers page. Before the move you get a binding estimate that shows the crew, the truck and the total. On move day the foreman checks the inventory with you, and anything new goes on a revised estimate you sign before loading. A move from New Braunfels to San Antonio, San Marcos or Austin is also hourly, on the same kind of estimate.

Two landscapes in one city

New Braunfels sits on the Balcones Fault, where the Hill Country meets the prairie, and the move looks different depending on which side you are on:

  • West, toward the hills. Neighborhoods off SH 46 and toward Canyon Lake have slopes, longer driveways and more acreage. Send a photo of the driveway so we can plan the truck.
  • East, toward the prairie. Newer subdivisions along I-35 and FM 725, many in Guadalupe County, have flatter lots, builder HOAs and closing dates that move around.
  • Downtown and Gruene. Older homes near the plaza and in the Gruene Historical District can have narrow doors and steep stairs. Tell us about large pieces when you ask for an estimate.

Most of the city is in New Braunfels ISD or Comal ISD, and the boundary does not follow the city limits, so check the district for any address you are considering.

River season and the local calendar

The Comal River runs only about three miles before it joins the Guadalupe, but from late spring through summer both rivers bring tubing crowds and parking restrictions near the parks. Wurstfest fills town every November, and Wassailfest takes over downtown in December. We plan routes and arrival times around those crowds. Heavy rain matters too: New Braunfels is among the most flood-prone areas in North America, and the 1998 floods were among the costliest in U.S. history. We don't drive a loaded truck through flooded low-water crossings, so on a stormy day we may adjust the timing.

Between San Antonio and Austin

Many New Braunfels households commute on I-35 in one direction or the other, and work transfers are a common reason to move here. If your employer is covering the move, we bill employers and relocation management companies directly and work with your move manager on dates and paperwork. Our corporate relocation page explains how group moves work. I-35 between San Antonio and New Braunfels has had long-running construction, so we allow extra time for lane shifts.

Packing, storage and office moves

All moves include furniture pads and wrapping, plus taking apart and reassembling beds, tables and other bolted pieces. We don't take apart particleboard. Packing is an add-on with its own price, and we crate glass, stone and framed art. If your new house is not ready yet, we can store your things at our Fort Worth or Houston location; storage is billed monthly. We move offices on evenings and weekends for an extra charge, and we tell you that charge when you book. See our packing and crating, moving and storage and office movers pages.

Long-distance moves from New Braunfels

Condor holds its own interstate authority and never hands a move to a broker. The same company is responsible for your shipment from New Braunfels to delivery.

  1. Out-of-state pricing. These moves are priced by the volume of the shipment, starting at $1,200, on a binding estimate.
  2. Texas moves. Moves to Houston, Austin or Dallas–Fort Worth are billed by the hour.
  3. Delivery window. Interstate loads arrive within a set window, and storage in transit is available in between.
  4. Routes from Comal County. Popular destinations include Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa and Washington. Our long-distance movers page lists them all.

Every interstate estimate includes the federal booklet Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move.
