Hudson Waterfront Towers
Jersey City, Hoboken, Weehawken and Edgewater high-rises require a certificate of insurance naming the building and the management company, a reserved service elevator and a booked loading dock window, often weekdays only and in fixed blocks. Buildings turn crews away over an incorrect certificate, so send us the requirements as soon as you have them.
Town Moving Permits
Hoboken and several neighbouring towns require a permit and posted cones or signs to reserve curb space for a moving truck, arranged with the municipality in advance. Streets there are narrow with parking on both sides and no loading zones. Tell us the address early so the permit can be filed in time.
Older Homes & Narrow Stairs
Montclair, Maplewood, Summit, Westfield and much of the older commuter belt have homes built long before modern furniture. Tight landings, steep staircases and narrow doorways are routine, and larger pieces sometimes have to be disassembled. Mention anything oversized when you request your estimate.
Tractor-Trailer Access
Many New Jersey streets, particularly in the older towns and along the shore, cannot take a full tractor-trailer — low bridges, weight-restricted roads and no legal place to park. Shipments are commonly transferred to a smaller truck for the final delivery, quoted upfront rather than added later.
Shore Properties & Storm Exposure
Homes along the shore from Sandy Hook to Cape May are often raised on pilings with exterior stairs, and the area is exposed to coastal storms and nor’easters. Both change how a delivery runs, so raised construction should be flagged when the move is quoted.
Winter on the Lane
Between December and March the I-81 and I-78 corridors through the Appalachians can close or slow at short notice, and ice on steps and walkways affects the carry. Conditions are monitored ahead of your date and a shipment is held rather than routed through a closure.
