Volume, Not Hours
Long-distance pricing is based on how much you are shipping and how far it is going. Purging before the estimate rather than after is the single most effective way to reduce the cost, because you pay to move every cubic foot.
Access at Both Ends
Stairs, elevator reservations, long carries and streets that cannot take a tractor-trailer all affect the price. Where a full-size truck cannot reach the door, a shuttle runs the final stretch — quoted upfront rather than added on the day.
Building Paperwork
Condo associations, HOAs and high-rise buildings across most destination states require a certificate of insurance naming the property, a reserved elevator and a booked move-in window. Send us the requirements with your estimate request.
Delivery Spread
A trailer carries more than one household, so interstate delivery is scheduled as a window rather than a fixed date. Pack a suitcase accordingly and plan for the gap between move-out and delivery.
Season & Date Flexibility
May through August is peak season across every lane, and the end of any month books first. Flexible dates and a flexible delivery window are worth real money on a long-distance move.
Valuation Coverage
Every interstate move includes Released Value Protection at $0.60 per pound per article at no additional cost. Because it is calculated by weight, it pays relatively little on light but expensive items. Additional valuation is available and worth discussing before you book.
