Moving Storage

Closing dates rarely cooperate. When your move-out lands before your move-in, Condor holds your shipment — inventoried, wrapped and vaulted — and redelivers it without a second pack. Short gaps or long ones, it is the same handling.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.

Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!

These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!

When Your Dates Do Not Line Up

A gap between homes is the most common reason a move goes wrong, and the easiest one to plan around.

The alternative to storage is moving everything twice — into a friend’s garage or a rented unit, then out again — which costs more, takes longer and is where most damage happens. With storage in transit your shipment stays on the same inventory, in the same wrapping, and comes out the other side without being packed a second time.

Condor operates from locations in Fort Worth and Texas and serves the entire state of Texas, running its own trucks and crews rather than subcontracted labor.

Our Texas moving services include:

  • Local residential moving
  • Long-distance and interstate moving
  • Apartment and condo moving
  • Packing services
  • Office and commercial moving
  • Short- and long-term storage
  • Specialty-item moving
  • Loading and unloading

Why Customers Use Storage

Choosing a mover isn't just about finding someone with a truck. You're trusting a company with nearly everything inside your home.

No Second Pack

Your shipment stays wrapped and on the same inventory the whole time. It is not unpacked into storage and packed again on the way out.

Licensed for Texas & Interstate Moves

Condor operates under Texas and federal moving authority for local, intrastate and interstate relocations.

Local & Long-Distance Service

One company for moves across Texas, across Texas or across the country.

Packing & Storage Available

Add packing, specialty-item handling or storage when your move requires more than transportation.

A Texas Location

Condor has a Texas location with crews working the metro, rather than simply advertising moving services from another city.

Trucks & Crews Across Texas

Condor runs its own equipment and staffs crews throughout the state, so coverage isn't limited to a single metro or a single yard.

Short-Term or Long-Term?

The handling is identical. What changes is how it is billed and how far ahead you book the redelivery. Short gaps are quoted as part of the move; anything beyond about a month runs on a monthly agreement.

How Storage Works

Moving in Texas presents logistical challenges that aren't always obvious when requesting a quote. Building restrictions, truck access, traffic, weather and distance from the truck to your door can all affect moving time. Here's what we consider when planning a Texas move.

Storage in Transit

The short gap between move-out and move-in — a closing that slipped, a lease that ended early, a new build running behind. Normally under 30 days, quoted as part of the move and handled on the same inventory.

Long-Term Storage

Anything beyond a month, on a monthly agreement. Common during an extended renovation, an overseas posting, a deployment, or while a property sells. Goods are positioned for longer-term holding rather than quick turnaround.

Vault Storage

Your shipment sealed into individual wooden vaults rather than stacked loose on a warehouse floor. Each vault holds one customer’s goods, is labelled to your inventory, and stays closed until your redelivery.

Inventoried In and Out

Everything is tagged as it comes off the truck using the same inventory as the move, and checked back out against it on release. That record is what makes a partial release possible and a claim straightforward.

Partial Release

Furniture out now, the garage later. Because everything is inventoried, part of a shipment can be released ahead of the rest. It needs more notice than a full release, so raise it when the goods go in.

Not a Self-Storage Unit

Worth being plain about: this is warehouse storage, not a drive-up unit you hold a key to. Retrieval is by appointment and takes notice. If you will need something regularly, keep it with you.

Questions

Storage FAQ

What is the difference between storage in transit and long-term storage?

Storage in transit covers a short gap between move-out and move-in — a delayed closing, a lease that ends before the next one starts, a new build that is not finished. It is normally under 30 days and stays part of your move. Long-term storage is anything beyond that and runs on a monthly agreement. The handling is the same either way; what changes is how it is billed and how far ahead you book the redelivery.

Can I go and collect something from storage?

Not in the way you would at a self-storage unit. This is warehouse storage, not a drive-up facility — your goods are sealed in vaults or palletized and stacked, often with other shipments around them. Retrieving one item means locating and opening your vault, which is arranged by appointment rather than on arrival. If you know you will need regular access to something, keep it with you rather than storing it.

How are my belongings protected in storage?

Items are inventoried and tagged as they come off the truck, the same inventory used on the move, and stored in sealed wooden vaults or palletized rather than stacked loose on a warehouse floor. Furniture stays blanket-wrapped. When your goods are released, they are checked out against the same inventory they went in on.

How much does storage cost?

Storage is billed monthly on the volume your shipment occupies, so a one-bedroom apartment and a four-bedroom house are not the same figure. Short gaps handled as storage in transit are quoted as part of the move. Longer periods run on a monthly agreement. Your moving consultant can give you the number alongside the moving estimate rather than after the fact.

How long can I keep things in storage?

There is no fixed limit. Short gaps of a few days to a few weeks are the most common, but goods can stay for months or longer on a monthly agreement. Tell your consultant roughly how long you expect to need so the shipment is positioned accordingly — something coming out in a week is handled differently from something coming out next year.

What cannot go into storage?

The same things that cannot go on the truck, plus a few more. No fuel, propane, aerosols, paint, cleaning chemicals, ammunition or fireworks. No perishable food, plants or anything that can attract pests. Cash, jewellery, passports, deeds and irreplaceable documents should stay with you rather than going into any storage. See the non-allowables list before you pack.

Can I release part of my shipment and leave the rest?

Usually yes, if it is planned. Because everything is inventoried, a partial release can be arranged — furniture out now, the garage contents later. It takes more notice than a full release because the items have to be located and separated, so raise it when the goods go in rather than when you want them out.
