Movers in Seguin, TX: Local and Long-Distance Moving

Seguin Movers

Seguin was founded in 1838 as Walnut Springs, and six months later it took the name of Juan Seguín, the Tejano hero of San Jacinto and a senator of the Republic of Texas. It is one of the oldest towns in the state. The frontier settlement was a base for the Texas Rangers, and in the 1800s local builders put up nearly 100 structures from homemade concrete, about 20 of which still stand. Seguin is the seat of Guadalupe County, 35 miles east-northeast of downtown San Antonio on I-10, where SH 130 ends its run down from Austin. The 2020 census counted 29,433 residents, and the 2025 estimate is 41,048, an increase of about 39 percent. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover that has used only its own trucks and its own employees on every job since 2003. Our Seguin movers handle moves around Guadalupe County, moves between Seguin and the San Antonio and Austin areas, and long-distance moves to other states.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.

Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!

Seguin moving costs

Local moves in Seguin are hourly, starting at $175 an hour for two movers and a truck. Every local job carries a four-hour minimum made up of labor and a trip charge; we figure the trip charge case by case for your address when we quote. Our San Antonio movers page covers the rest of the area. We put the crew, the truck and the total in writing as a binding estimate, and the price holds unless the inventory changes. If you add furniture after the walkthrough, the foreman writes it up and you approve the change before a single box goes on the truck. A move from Seguin to New Braunfels, San Antonio or Austin is billed by the hour on the same kind of estimate.

Old Seguin and the pecan trees

People say Seguin is "a big pecan orchard with a small town in it." Many yards are shaded by pecan trees, and a giant pecan sculpture sits on the courthouse lawn downtown. The older part of town is laid out on a grid around Courthouse Square and Central Park.

  • Historic homes. Houses near downtown and Texas Lutheran University can have narrow doors, steep steps and old staircases. A piano, a gun safe or a heavy antique needs its own line on the inventory.
  • Low branches and tight streets. Big trees and narrow older streets can limit where the truck can park. We look at the street during the walkthrough and plan the parking.
  • Newer subdivisions. Homes along I-10, SH 123 and SH 46, and the new streets on the west side toward the San Antonio suburbs, have builder HOAs and closing dates that can change.

The Guadalupe River and the lakes

The Guadalupe River runs along the south side of town past Max Starcke Park, and dams just upstream form Lake McQueeney and Lake Placid, where many homes sit on the water. Lake homes often have long driveways, boathouses and patio furniture, so send photos when you ask for an estimate. The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority has its main offices in downtown Seguin. During heavy rain, low-water crossings can flood quickly, and we won't take a loaded truck through high water, so we may change the timing and stay in touch with you.

Manufacturing and university moves

Seguin is an industrial town as well as a county seat. Schaeffler, Caterpillar's engine plant, CMC Steel and the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center are among the large employers, and Texas Lutheran University brings faculty and staff to town; we name them only to describe the area. Plant transfers and new hires often come with a relocation package, and we bill employers and relocation management companies directly, so the invoice goes to the company instead of to you. Our corporate relocation page covers moves for several employees at once.

Packing, storage and office moves in Seguin

Every move includes furniture pads and wrapping, plus taking apart and putting back together beds, tables and other bolted furniture. We don't take apart particleboard. You can pack yourself or pay for packing as a separate line, and custom crates protect mirrors, glass tops, stone and art. Between homes, your shipment can wait in storage at our Fort Worth or Houston location for a monthly fee. We move offices on evenings and weekends for an extra charge, and we tell you that charge when you book. Details: packing and crating, storage and commercial and office moves.

Long-distance moves from Seguin

Condor holds its own interstate authority, so your move stays with one company from loading to delivery. No broker sells the job to another mover.

  1. Out-of-state moves. Priced by the cubic feet of your shipment, from $1,200, on a binding estimate built from a full inventory.
  2. Texas moves. A move from Seguin to Houston, Austin or Dallas–Fort Worth is still hourly. I-10 runs straight from Seguin to Houston.
  3. Delivery windows. Interstate loads arrive within a range of dates, and storage in transit is available in between.
  4. Routes from Guadalupe County. Families often move to Arizona, New Mexico, Iowa and Michigan. The rest are on our long-distance movers page.

Interstate moves run under USDOT 1126171 and MC-458180, and your estimate comes with the federal booklet Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move.
