Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.Thomas C Davison
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!Denis Tanney
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!Marks Josephine
Local movers in Grand Prairie, TX: rates and your binding estimate
Two movers and a truck cost $175 an hour, with a four-hour minimum on every local job. That minimum is three hours of labor plus a one-hour trip charge, which covers the drive from our yard. You get a binding estimate in writing before move day, listing the crew, the truck and the total. When the crew arrives, the foreman walks the home with you. If the inventory has changed since the walkthrough, he rewrites the estimate on paper and you approve it before anything is carried out. In Grand Prairie, the things that change a total most are stair and elevator carries at apartment buildings, long walks from a guest lot, and how much is boxed when we arrive.
Joe Pool Lake: Mira Lagos, Grand Peninsula and Lake Ridge
South of I-20 the city changes. Joe Pool Lake covers about 7,740 acres, and most of the newer neighborhoods around it have an HOA, and some have gates:
- Mira Lagos. This lakeside community sits on a peninsula, is zoned to Mansfield ISD and includes a gated section of villas for buyers 55 and over.
- Grand Peninsula. A master-planned community of roughly 1,300 lots in several villages, funded partly through a public improvement district.
- Lake Ridge. Custom homes on hilly, winding streets that cross into Cedar Hill. Seven sections are gated, among them The Bluffs, The Summit and The Sanctuary.
Send us the gate code or the guard-house contact a few days ahead, and ask your HOA about move-in hours or notice for a large truck. Our in-state trucks are 26-foot box trucks. If a steep drive or a tight cul-de-sac in Lake Ridge means one can't reach your door, we'll find that out during the survey and price a shuttle truck at that time. You won't hear about it for the first time on move day.
Apartments and older blocks north of I-20
North of the lake are most of the city's apartment communities, the older streets around the original downtown on Main Street (SH 180), and established neighborhoods such as Westchester Crossing. For an apartment move, here is what to line up:
- An elevator reservation if your building has one, at both the old and the new address.
- A loading spot the manager approves, close to your stairwell or entrance.
- The certificate of insurance wording the property requires. We'll send the COI to the leasing office before move day.
Month-end is the tightest time for both our calendar and building elevators, so pick a mid-month date if your lease allows it.
Three school districts inside one city
Grand Prairie ISD covers much of the city, but parts of Grand Prairie are in Arlington ISD, and lake neighborhoods such as Mira Lagos are in Mansfield ISD. A move across town can also be a move between districts, so check the district map for your exact address before you sign a lease or a contract. If you're buying in Goodland, the master-planned area the city annexed in 2025, ask your builder for the closing timeline early so we can hold the date.
Moving services in Grand Prairie, TX: packing, disassembly and storage
Our moving services in Grand Prairie cover more than loading the truck. We take apart and put back together bed frames, dining tables and other standard furniture at no extra charge. We don't take apart particleboard or flat-pack pieces. Packing is a separate add-on: a full pack, a partial pack or just the kitchen. Our packing and crating page lists the options. If you close on a lake house before your apartment lease ends, we can store your things at our Fort Worth warehouse. Storage is billed by the month, and the details are on our moving and storage page.

Moving out of state from Grand Prairie
We hold our own interstate authority, so the Condor crew that loads your Grand Prairie home drives the shipment and unloads it at the other end. No broker resells the job, which is the first thing to check when you compare long distance movers in Texas. Here's how a long-distance move differs from a local one:
- Out-of-state pricing is by volume. We price moves to other states by the cubic feet you ship, not by the hour. They start at $1,200, with a 200 cubic foot minimum, and your binding estimate is built from a room-by-room inventory.
- Moves within Texas stay hourly. A move from Grand Prairie to Houston, Austin or San Antonio is billed by the hour on a binding estimate.
- Delivery comes in a window. A trailer may carry more than one household, so your estimate lists a delivery spread instead of a single day. If the new place isn't ready, we can hold the shipment in storage in transit.
- Popular lanes. We have route pages for Texas to Florida, Texas to Georgia, Texas to Tennessee and Texas to Arizona. Every lane we serve is listed on our long-distance movers page.
Long-distance moves run under USDOT 1126171 and MC-458180, and you'll get the federal Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move booklet with your estimate.
The route from our Fort Worth yard
Crews leave 4009 E Loop 820 S, Fort Worth, TX 76119 and usually take I-20 east. Central Grand Prairie is about 17 miles, roughly 25 minutes, with clear roads. North Grand Prairie near I-30 takes longer in the afternoon rush. Race seasons at Lone Star Park on Belt Line Road, Traders Village at Mayfield Road and SH 360, and event nights at Epic Waters and the Texas Trust CU Theatre all add traffic, so we check those calendars when we plan the start time on I-20, I-30, SH 360 or the Bush Turnpike (SH 161).

Grand Prairie movers FAQ
Do you move into the gated sections of Lake Ridge and Mira Lagos?
Yes. Send us the gate code or the guard contact ahead of time, along with any HOA move-in hours. If a 26-foot truck can't reach the house, we'll say so at the survey and price a shuttle before move day.
How much do movers cost in Grand Prairie, TX?
For a local move, our rate is $175 an hour for two movers and a truck, with a four-hour minimum that includes a one-hour trip charge. A move from Grand Prairie to another state is priced by the cubic foot and starts at $1,200. Both come on a binding estimate.
My apartment needs a certificate of insurance. Can you provide one?
Yes. Send us the property's requirements, and we'll send the certificate to the leasing office before your move.
Can you give me a quote without coming to the house?
Yes. A Zoom walkthrough is the most popular option. We can also quote by phone from an accurate item list, or send a surveyor to your home anywhere in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Does my employer pay you directly for a relocation?
It can. We bill employers and relocation management companies directly. Tell us who is paying when you request your estimate.
Do you handle long-distance moves from Grand Prairie to another state?
Yes. Our own crews load in Grand Prairie and deliver to your new home, with no broker in between. Out-of-state moves are priced by the cubic foot on a binding estimate, and the estimate shows your delivery window.
How far ahead should I book a Grand Prairie move?
Book at least two weeks ahead, for a local or a long-distance move. For June, July and the last days of any month, book earlier than that.
