Trusted by Texas Families Since 2003
Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.Thomas C Davison
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!Denis Tanney
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!Marks Josephine

How Much Do Local Movers Cost in Texas?
The cost of hiring movers in Texas depends primarily on home size, crew size, distance, access and whether you need packing or specialty services. Local moves are generally billed hourly, while long-distance moves are priced based on the details of the shipment and destination.
Local Moving Rates
How the 4-hour minimum works: every local move is billed at a 4-hour minimum — 3 hours of labor plus a 1-hour trip charge that covers driving to your origin and back from your destination. There is no separate fuel surcharge. A 3-mover crew at the 4-hour minimum comes to $796. Time beyond the minimum is billed at the same hourly rate. Your written estimate shows the applicable rate and expected charges before moving day.

What Affects the Cost of a Local Move?
Moving in Texas presents logistical challenges that aren't always obvious when requesting a quote. Building restrictions, truck access, traffic, weather and distance from the truck to your door can all affect moving time. Here's what we consider when planning a Texas move.
Apartment & High-Rise Access
Apartment communities and high-rise buildings across the Texas metros commonly require a reserved elevator, a booked loading dock window and a certificate of insurance naming the property. Send us the building requirements with your estimate request so the paperwork is handled before moving day.
Stairs & Long Carries
Third-floor walk-ups, homes with a second-floor primary suite and properties where the truck cannot park close to the door all add time to a local move. Access is reviewed when the move is quoted so the crew size and the price reflect the actual job.
Gated Communities & HOAs
A great deal of Texas suburban housing sits under an HOA, and many communities control gate access, set permitted move hours and restrict truck size on internal streets. Tell us the community name early so access is arranged rather than negotiated at the gate.
Texas Heat
Summer loading days regularly clear 100°F across the state. Crews start early and pace the day, and heat-sensitive belongings — electronics, artwork, candles, vinyl records and anything with adhesive — are loaded to come off first.
Month-End & Summer Demand
Lease turnover concentrates moves at the end of every month, and school-year timing concentrates them again from June through early August. The last weekend of any summer month is the hardest date in the calendar to book.
Specialty Items
Pianos, slate pool tables, safes, gym equipment, artwork and antiques are handled as specialty items with dedicated equipment. They are priced individually rather than by the hour, so list them when you request your estimate.
Moving Out of Texas?
Whether you're moving across Texas or across the country, Condor can coordinate your move from Texas to your new destination.
Interstate moves are regulated by the FMCSA. Condor operates under USDOT 1126171 and MC 458180 and provides the federal Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move booklet with interstate estimates.

Local Moving FAQ
How much do local movers cost in Texas?
Local moves in Texas are billed hourly by crew size. Condor’s rates start at $175 per hour for two movers and a truck, $199 per hour for three movers and a truck, and $225 per hour for four movers and a truck. Every local move has a 4-hour minimum, made up of 3 hours of labor plus a 1-hour trip charge covering travel to and from your locations, and there is no separate fuel surcharge. At the minimum, a 3-mover crew comes to $796. Your written estimate shows the applicable rate and expected charges before moving day.
How long does a local move take?
Most local moves finish in a single day. A one or two-bedroom apartment typically runs four to six hours with a three-mover crew, while a three or four-bedroom house usually takes most of a working day. Stairs, elevator waits, long carries and full packing all add time, which is why the estimate is built on your actual inventory and access rather than an average.
Can I pack everything myself?
Yes. Packing yourself is a straightforward way to reduce the cost of a local move, since you are paying for the crew’s time. Use proper cartons rather than grocery boxes, tape the bottoms, keep each box to a weight one person can carry, and label by room. Condor also offers full or partial packing if you would rather not, and fragile-only packing for kitchens and artwork.
What coverage comes with a local move?
Every move includes Released Value Protection at $0.60 per pound per article, which is the standard basic coverage and is included at no additional cost. Because it is calculated by weight rather than value, it pays relatively little on light but expensive items. Additional valuation options are available, and your moving consultant can walk you through the difference before you book.
Do I need to supply my own boxes and materials?
No. Condor can supply cartons, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, dish packs, wardrobe boxes and mattress bags, and the crew brings pads, shrink wrap, dollies and floor protection as standard. If you would rather use your own boxes that is fine, provided they are sturdy and properly taped.
Which Texas cities does Condor serve?
Condor serves the major Texas metros and the communities around them, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Houston, Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, San Antonio and New Braunfels, along with the suburbs across each metro.
Is Condor Moving Systems licensed and insured?
Yes. Condor Moving Systems operates under USDOT 1126171, MC 458180 and TxDMV 006041428C. Condor is a direct mover rather than a broker, so your move is handled by our own crews and equipment rather than sold on to another company.
