What to Expect Delivering in New Mexico

A full-size truck frequently cannot reach the door, so the shipment is shuttled in with a smaller vehicle and carried the last stretch.
Altitude & Mountain Grades
Santa Fe sits above 7,000 feet and Taos higher still, reached by sustained mountain grades that a loaded trailer takes slowly. Snow and ice close passes in winter. Routing and timing are set when the move is quoted rather than decided on the day.
Long Distances Between Towns
Outside the Rio Grande corridor, New Mexico towns are a long way apart with little between them. Deliveries to Farmington, Roswell, Carlsbad, Silver City or Gallup are planned as their own leg rather than squeezed onto the end of another run.
Rural & Unpaved Access
A great deal of New Mexico delivery is down caliche or dirt road, sometimes crossing an arroyo that a loaded truck cannot pass after rain. Where a full-size truck cannot safely reach the house we shuttle in with a smaller vehicle, quoted upfront.
