TV Box
These boxes are wide and flat, like the box your flat screen TV came in. They’re available in a variety of sizes, so you should be able to find one that works for your TV. It may cost a bit, but it’s a lot cheaper than buying a new TV if yours gets broken in the move. If it’s a little too big, add towels, rugs or bed sheets to keep the tv from jostling around too much.
Wardrobe Box
This box is like a cardboard wardrobe. It has a metal bar at the top so you can hang up clothes. It keeps them from getting all wadded up and wrinkled, and you can easily move clothes from your closet to the box to your new closet.
File Box
These are the perfect size for file folders, and have a firm, removable lid. They’re a handy and secure way to transport or store files and file folders.
Dish Box / Dish Packing Kit
Dish boxes are strong and sturdy enough to carry plates and bowls. Dish packing kits come with dividers and foam sleeves to make sure your dishes don’t damage each other during the move. You still need to be careful as no cardboard package will fully protect your dishes.
Frame Boxes
Frame boxes are a lot like TV boxes. They’re wide and flat, and come in a variety of sizes. Again, if the frame is a bit small for the box, you should probably add some packing material to prevent jostling.
Extra Large Boxes
These are handy for large items like comforters, blankets, pillows and stuffed animals. Never load a large box with heavy items. It will be very hard to lift, and the weight of the contents is likely to open the seal at the bottom of the box.
