Movers in League City and Clear Lake, TX: Local and Long-Distance Moving

League City-Clear Lake Movers

In 1961 NASA picked a site near Clear Lake, southeast of Houston, for its new crewed spacecraft center, on land Humble Oil donated through Rice University, and the area has been tied to the space program ever since. The Johnson Space Center brought engineers and contractors, Humble Oil's Friendswood Development Company laid out Clear Lake City around it in 1963, and Houston annexed most of that community in 1977. Across Clear Creek, League City grew from a ranching settlement where the Butler family planted the live oaks that still line Main Street into the largest city in Galveston County: 114,392 residents in 2020 and an estimated 119,905 in 2025. Webster, Nassau Bay, Seabrook and Kemah fill in the rest of the shoreline. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover with a Houston location, and every job since 2003 has been done by our own employees in our own trucks. Our League City and Clear Lake movers handle moves around the Bay Area, moves to and from the rest of Houston, and long-distance moves to other Texas cities and other states.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.

Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!

League City and Clear Lake movers: what a local move costs

Local moves around League City and Clear Lake are billed by the hour, from $175 an hour for two movers and a truck. The four-hour minimum includes labor and a trip charge, which we figure case by case for your address when we quote; see our Houston movers page for the wider metro. You get a binding estimate before the move with the crew, the truck and the total. On the day of the move, the foreman goes through the inventory with you, and anything added goes on a revised estimate you sign before loading. Moves between the Bay Area and central Houston, Pearland or Sugar Land are hourly on the same kind of estimate.

Neighborhoods around the lake

The Bay Area mixes older 1960s and 1970s houses with newer master-planned neighborhoods, waterfront homes and apartments near the NASA Parkway and Bay Area Boulevard corridors.

  • League City. South Shore Harbor, Victory Lakes, Tuscan Lakes and the older streets around the Butler Oaks on Main Street. Most students here attend Clear Creek ISD, though parts of the city are in Dickinson ISD or Santa Fe ISD.
  • Clear Lake, Webster and Nassau Bay. Many Clear Lake homes are inside Houston city limits but still in Clear Creek ISD. Webster, founded as "Gardentown" in 1879, sits on I-45 with apartments and newer townhomes, and Nassau Bay sits right across NASA Parkway from the space center.
  • Seabrook and Kemah. Waterfront homes here are often raised above flood level, with long outside stairs. Tell us about the stairs and any parking limits so we can plan the crew and the time.

Weather, water and I-45

The Bay Area is close to Galveston Bay, so the weather matters. Hurricane Ike pushed storm surge into Seabrook, Kemah and the Clear Lake shoreline in 2008, and heavy rain still floods low streets. We won't drive a loaded truck through high water, so we may adjust the timing on a stormy day and keep you updated. Traffic on I-45 between the Bay Area and downtown is a big part of any move into the city, and we build that drive into the estimate.

Moves for NASA, aerospace and federal work

The space center, aerospace contractors such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin, and the refineries and chemical plants along the bay bring many households to the Clear Lake area; we name them only to describe it. If your employer is paying, we bill employers and relocation management companies directly and work with your move manager on dates and paperwork. Federal civilian moves have their own paperwork, and our government moves page explains how we handle them. Our corporate relocation page covers group moves for companies.

Packing, storage and office moves in League City and Clear Lake

Every move includes furniture pads and wrapping, plus taking apart and putting back together beds, tables and other bolted pieces. We don't take apart particleboard. Packing is an add-on with its own price, and we crate glass, marble and framed art. Pianos, including grand pianos, are moved by a crew with the right equipment; see our piano movers page. If you need time between homes, we can store your shipment at our Fort Worth or Houston location; storage is billed monthly. We move offices on evenings and weekends for an extra charge, and we tell you that charge when you book. See our packing and crating, moving and storage and office movers pages.

Long-distance moves from League City and Clear Lake

Condor holds its own interstate authority and never sells a move to a broker. The same company is responsible for your shipment from the Bay Area to delivery.

  2. Texas moves. Moves to Austin, San Antonio or Dallas–Fort Worth are billed by the hour.
