Movers in Cypress, TX: Local and Long-Distance Moving

Cypress Movers

German farmers settled along Cypress Creek in the 1840s, and their names are still on the map in Huffmeister Road and Telge Road. For more than a century Cypress was farm and ranch country northwest of Houston. Today it is a large unincorporated community with no city government of its own. Most of it sits in Houston's extraterritorial jurisdiction in Harris County, and it stretches along US 290 roughly 24 miles from downtown. Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, which serves most of the area, has more than 118,000 students and is the third-largest school district in the state. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover with a Houston location, and since 2003 every move has been handled by our own crews in our own trucks. Our Cypress movers handle moves across northwest Harris County, moves between Cypress and the rest of the Houston area, and long-distance moves to other Texas cities and other states.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.

Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!

Cypress movers: hourly local pricing

Local moves in Cypress are priced by the hour, starting at $175 an hour for two movers and a truck. There is a four-hour minimum, which includes labor and a trip charge that we figure case by case for your address when we quote. Our Houston movers page covers the wider metro. Before the move you get a binding estimate with the crew size, the truck and the total. On move day the foreman reviews the inventory with you, and anything new goes on a revised estimate that you sign before we load. For a Cypress move, the big variables are usually the size of the house, how much is in the garage, and how far the truck has to park from the front door.

Bridgeland and the master-planned communities

Bridgeland is the largest of the planned communities here: about 11,500 acres developed by the Howard Hughes Corporation, split into villages such as Lakeland, Parkland, Prairieland and Creekland, with the Grand Parkway running through the middle. Towne Lake, Fairfield and Coles Crossing are other large neighborhoods, many with lakes, gates and homeowners associations.

  • Gates and HOA rules. Many communities need the moving truck on a guest list, and some limit the hours a truck can park on the street. Send us the rules when you book.
  • Three school districts in one community. Parts of Bridgeland are zoned to Cy-Fair ISD, others to Waller ISD, and a small section to Katy ISD. Check the district before you sign a lease or buy.
  • Large homes. Many Cypress homes are two stories with a game room upstairs. Tell us about pool tables, pianos and large sectionals so we can bring the right crew.

US 290, the Grand Parkway and rainy days

Most moves in Cypress run along US 290, the Grand Parkway (SH 99) or Fry, Barker Cypress and Huffmeister roads, and traffic on 290 decides how long a drive into Houston takes. We plan the drive time into the estimate. Cypress sits in the Cypress Creek and Little Cypress Creek watershed, and storms such as Hurricane Ike in 2008 and Hurricane Harvey in 2017 flooded parts of the area. We won't drive a loaded truck through high water, so on a day with heavy rain we may change the timing and stay in touch with you.

Relocations to northwest Houston

New jobs bring many families to Cypress. The Energy Corridor along I-10 is a short drive south, and hospitals such as HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress and Memorial Hermann Cypress are large employers on the northwest side; we name them only to describe the area. If your company is paying for the move, we bill employers and relocation management companies directly and work out dates and paperwork with your move manager. Our corporate relocation page explains how we plan several employee moves at once.

Packing, storage and office moves in Cypress

Every move includes furniture pads and wrapping, plus taking apart and putting back together beds, tables and other bolted pieces. We don't take apart particleboard. Packing is an add-on with its own price, and we crate glass, marble and framed art, which matters for high-value pieces. If your new home isn't ready, we can store your shipment at our Fort Worth or Houston location; storage is billed monthly. We move offices on evenings and weekends for an extra charge, and we tell you that charge when you book. Learn more on our packing and crating, moving and storage, piano movers and office movers pages.

Long-distance moves from Cypress

Condor has its own interstate authority, so we don't hand your move to a broker. The crew that loads your truck in Cypress is the crew that delivers it.

  1. Volume-based pricing. Out-of-state moves are priced by the cubic feet of your shipment and start at $1,200, on a binding estimate built from a full inventory.
  2. Moves inside Texas. Moving from Cypress to Austin, San Antonio or Dallas–Fort Worth is billed by the hour.
  3. A delivery window. Long-distance shipments can share a trailer, so you get a range of delivery dates, and storage in transit covers any gap.
  4. Common routes from Cypress. Families often move to Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina and Illinois. Every route is on our long-distance movers page.

Interstate moves are carried under USDOT 1126171 and MC-458180, and you get the federal booklet Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move with your estimate.
