Kyle-Buda Movers
Kyle was laid out in 1880, when the International–Great Northern Railroad ran its line from Austin to San Marcos straight across the land of Fergus Kyle and his wife, Anne Moore, and the first lots were sold at auction under a live oak still known as the Auction Oak. Buda, about seven miles north on I-35, was platted the next year as Du Pre and took its present name in 1887. Both towns are in Hays County, between Austin and San Marcos, and both have grown fast. Kyle went from 28,016 residents in 2010 to 45,697 in 2020, and the 2025 estimate is 69,917. Buda roughly doubled over the same decade, from 7,295 to 15,108. Kyle has a link to women in charge, too: in 1937, Mary Kyle Hartson was elected mayor by write-in vote, and later she led an all-woman city council. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover that has sent only its own crews and trucks on every job since 2003. Our Kyle and Buda movers handle moves within Hays County, moves up and down the I-35 corridor, and long-distance moves to other states.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!
What a local move in Kyle or Buda costs
Kyle and Buda moves are hourly, starting at $175 an hour for two movers and a truck. The four-hour minimum includes labor and a trip charge, which we figure case by case when we quote your Kyle or Buda address. Our Austin movers page covers the rest of the metro. Every move starts with a binding estimate listing the crew size, the truck and the total. On the morning of the move the foreman checks the inventory with you, and anything that wasn't on it goes on a revised estimate you sign before we load. A move from Kyle or Buda into Austin, to San Marcos or down to San Antonio is billed by the hour on the same kind of estimate.
Kyle: Plum Creek, Hometown Kyle and the new east side
Kyle drains two ways. The Blanco River runs along the west side of the city, and the central and east sides drain toward Plum Creek, which also gives its name to one of the city's largest master-planned neighborhoods. Things to know before a move:
- Newer subdivisions. Plum Creek, Hometown Kyle and the neighborhoods off FM 1626 and Kohlers Crossing have builder HOAs, narrow streets and mailbox clusters. Tell us if the HOA limits truck parking.
- New construction east of I-35. Many homes east of the interstate are brand new, and closing dates tend to move. We can store your shipment and deliver once you have the keys.
- Older homes near downtown. Houses near the old Kyle square, where Katherine Anne Porter spent part of her childhood, can have tight doorways. Let us know about pianos, safes and large cabinets.
Buda: Sunfield, Garlic Creek and Main Street
Buda is smaller, but it fills up fast on a few days each spring: the Buda Lions Club runs its wiener dog races every April, and the Main Street area gets crowded. Onion Creek runs along the northwest side of the city. Neighborhoods such as Sunfield and Garlic Creek, and the newer streets near the Cabela's on I-35, are mostly single-family homes with two-car garages full of things to move. Both towns are in Hays CISD, so most families moving between them stay in the same district. Check the attendance zone for any address, because the high school can change from one subdivision to the next.
Commuting and job moves on I-35
Most households in Kyle and Buda commute north to Austin or south to San Marcos and San Antonio, and many move here because of a new job, or move away because of one. If your company is paying, we bill employers and relocation management companies directly and work with your move manager on dates and paperwork. Our corporate relocation page explains how we handle group moves. I-35 through Hays County has had long stretches of construction, and we plan for it when scheduling arrival times.
Packing, storage and office moves in Kyle and Buda
All moves include furniture pads and wrapping, plus taking apart and putting back together beds, tables and other bolted pieces. We don't take apart particleboard. Packing is an add-on with its own price, and we can crate glass, marble and framed art. If you need to bridge a gap between homes, we can store your shipment at our Fort Worth or Houston location; storage is billed monthly. We move offices on evenings and weekends for an extra charge, and we tell you that charge when you book. See our packing and crating, moving and storage and office movers pages.
