How Much Do Movers Cost in Houston?
The cost of hiring movers in Houston depends primarily on home size, crew size, distance, access and whether you need packing or specialty services. Local moves are generally billed hourly, while long-distance moves are priced based on the details of the shipment and destination.
Houston Local Moving Rates
How the 4-hour minimum works: every local move is billed at a 4-hour minimum — 3 hours of labor plus a 1-hour trip charge that covers driving to your origin and back from your destination. There is no separate fuel surcharge. A 3-mover crew at the 4-hour minimum comes to $796. Time beyond the minimum is billed at the same hourly rate. Your written estimate shows the applicable rate and expected charges before moving day.

How much do movers cost in Houston?
Local moves in Houston are billed hourly by crew size. Condor's Houston rates start at $175 per hour for two movers and a truck, $199 per hour for three movers and a truck, and $225 per hour for four movers and a truck. Every local move has a 4-hour minimum, made up of 3 hours of labor plus a 1-hour trip charge covering travel to and from your locations, and there is no separate fuel surcharge. At the minimum, a 3-mover crew comes to $796. The total depends on home size, access, distance and whether you need packing or specialty services. Long-distance moves are priced on the details of the shipment and destination rather than by the hour.
How far in advance should I book Houston movers?
Two to four weeks ahead is a reasonable target for a local Houston move, and four to six weeks for a long-distance move. The end of the month, summer months and lease turnover periods tend to book first, so earlier is better for those dates.

Yes. Condor offers full packing, partial packing and fragile-only packing. Crews can pack kitchens, closets, artwork, mirrors and other household belongings using professional moving materials. You can also pack yourself and have Condor handle loading and transportation.
