Condor Moving Systems offers two options of moving coverage and it is important for you to understand what they are and how they work. Most moving companies today make you go through a third party company for additional moving coverage but at Condor Moving Systems we offer additional coverage in house to ensure you get right coverage hassle free.

Option 1 – Release Value: 60 cents per Pound per Article

This is the most economical protection available; however this no-cost option provides only minimal protection.  Under this option, Condor Moving Systems assumes liability for no more than 60 cents per pound, per article.  Loss or damage claims are settled based on the weight of the article multiplied by 60 cents per pound.

Option 2 – Full Value Protection Coverage

Full Value Protection or Valuation is declared by you, the shipping customer, in the amount of the carrier’s maximum liability in the event of loss or damage to your goods.  In other words, valuation provides a certain level of protection for loss or damage caused by the carrier while your shipment is in the care and custody of the carrier. Condor Moving Systems does not sell insurance instead we provide different valuation options.

The standard formula for determining the amount of valuation to purchase is as follows: Estimated weight x 5.00 per pound = amount of valuation to purchase.

Coverage minimum is $15,000.00 and increase in $5,000.00 increments. Full Value Protection coverage offered by Condor Moving Systems has a $500.00 deductible.

For your own protection, you must choose the valuation option which you wish to declare and enter this choice, in your own handwriting, on the Bill of Lading prior to Condor Moving Systems loading your shipment on the truck.It is important for you to note that once the crew begins loading your shipment, you cannot change your mind about the valuation option you chose.
