Older Louisville Neighborhoods
The Highlands, Old Louisville, Clifton and Germantown are lined with tall, narrow houses on tight streets, often with steep front steps, no driveway and alley loading at the rear. Expect a curb stop and a longer carry.
Steep Interior Stairs
Kentucky housing stock skews old, with narrow, steep staircases and tight landings common in the city neighborhoods. Larger furniture sometimes has to be disassembled. Tell us the floor and stair situation when you request your estimate.
Eastern Kentucky Hills
Deliveries into the eastern counties involve sustained grades, switchbacks and narrow roads with limited turnaround, and some approaches are gravel. Those deliveries are planned as their own leg with the right equipment rather than squeezed onto another run.
River Flooding
The Ohio, Kentucky and Licking rivers flood recurrently, closing low-lying roads and access routes with limited notice, and eastern Kentucky sees flash flooding after heavy rain. Routing is set when the move is quoted and reviewed before dispatch.
Winter Ice
From December through March, ice storms affect central and eastern Kentucky and can close roads at short notice. Conditions are monitored ahead of your date and a shipment is held rather than run into a closure.
