Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.Thomas C Davison
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!Denis Tanney
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!Marks Josephine
Moving On or Off Joint Base San Antonio
Joint Base San Antonio combines Fort Sam Houston, Lackland, Randolph and Camp Bullis. A few things are worth knowing before your truck shows up:
- Gate access is arranged in advance. Moving company employees need to be vetted and sponsored, and Randolph asks for written requests at least three working days before the start date.
- Commercial gate hours are limited. At the time of writing, Fort Sam Houston's commercial gates are generally open 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lackland's 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Randolph's 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. We schedule loading inside those hours. Check current hours with JBSA before your date.
- PCS season peaks in summer, and JBSA has called September its peak household-goods month in past years. Ask for dates early.
- Weight tickets. Military moves are the one case where weight tickets are required. When your military move needs them, we can provide them.
- Report dates don't move. Your pickup date is guaranteed, and a guaranteed delivery date is available for an additional charge.
We handle PPM moves (you arrange the move and the government reimburses you), retiree moves and government-arranged shipments. More on our military movers page.

San Antonio by Area
Inside Loop 410
Alamo Heights, Olmos Park and Terrell Hills are their own small cities inside San Antonio, with older homes, mature trees and their own street rules. Monte Vista, Tobin Hill and the King William historic district have big older houses with front porches, long steps and narrow streets with cars on both sides. Downtown and the Pearl add apartment buildings that need a certificate of insurance and a booked elevator. In-state we run 26-foot box trucks, and local moves usually have no shuttle charge unless it's truly impossible to get the 26-foot truck to your door. When a long-distance semi-truck can't get access, a shuttle truck is used; it's charged in addition to your estimate and starts at $450.
The North Side
Stone Oak, The Dominion, Shavano Park, Hollywood Park and the neighborhoods along US-281 and Loop 1604 are full of gated HOA communities. Plan on giving the gate a crew list, checking whether trucks can park on the street, and confirming any HOA move hours. The South Texas Medical Center area off I-10 and Wurzbach has many apartment complexes with month-end turnover.
The Northeast and the base corridor
Live Oak, Universal City, Converse, Schertz, Cibolo and Selma sit around Randolph and along I-35 north. I-35 there is under heavy construction for the NEX elevated lanes between Loop 410 and FM 3009; TxDOT expects that section to finish in late 2027. Expect lane shifts and allow extra time.
The West and Southwest
Alamo Ranch, Westover Hills and the communities along SH-151 and Loop 1604 near Lackland are some of the newest neighborhoods in the metro. New-build streets sometimes lack finished curbs or posted addresses on closing day, so send a map pin.
The Hill Country edge
Boerne, Helotes, Fair Oaks Ranch, Bulverde, Spring Branch and New Braunfels mix acreage, caliche drives and limestone slopes. A driveway photo helps us plan the right truck.
Weather and the Local Calendar
Flash floods. San Antonio has hundreds of low-water crossings, and heavy rain can make them impassable fast. We don't drive a loaded truck into high water; if a flood warning covers your route, we reschedule with you.
Summer heat. Highs near or above 100°F are common from June into September, so an early start helps. Pack candles, vinyl and electronics so they aren't against a hot truck wall.
Hail. Spring storms can bring large hail. If one is forecast on your load day, we'll talk with you about timing.
Fiesta. Fiesta San Antonio takes over the city for about ten days each April. In 2026 it ran April 16–26, and parade days like the Battle of Flowers close a large part of downtown for most of the day. Avoid downtown and near-downtown move dates during Fiesta if you can.
College calendars. UTSA, Trinity, St. Mary's, the University of the Incarnate Word and Texas A&M–San Antonio move students in during August.
Pricing a Move From San Antonio
Out-of-state moves are priced by cubic footage only. The per-cubic-foot rate includes the trip, so you won't see a separate distance charge on the estimate. Out-of-state moves start at $1,200. Moves from San Antonio to Austin, Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth or anywhere else in Texas are hourly, like a local move, from $175 per hour with a 4-hour minimum.
Your estimate is binding. If what you're moving changes before load day, the foreman writes a revised estimate and you approve it before loading. If your orders or your employer require a not-to-exceed estimate, we can provide one.
What moves the number on an out-of-state estimate:
- The cubic feet of furniture and boxes
- A full or partial packing add-on, plus materials and crates
- Stairs, gated access, long carries and elevators
- Pianos, safes and gym equipment
- Storage in transit while you wait on housing at the next base
- A guaranteed delivery date
How to bring it down:
- Sort and donate before the survey; base thrift shops and local charities take furniture
- Pack your own boxes or choose a partial pack
- Pick a date outside the peak summer PCS weeks if your orders allow
Ways to Get a Quote
- Zoom survey (most popular). A consultant tours your home with you over video and builds your inventory.
- Phone quote. If you can give an accurate furniture list and a box count. For a binding phone quote with no video or in-person survey, you sign a written waiver of the survey.

What Every Move Includes
Our crew handles basic furniture disassembly before loading and reassembly at your new home on every move. Furniture is padded, every item gets a numbered tag on an inventory you sign at both ends, and everything goes into the rooms you choose. One consultant handles your move from survey to delivery. Released value protection comes at no extra cost. It's the carrier's basic liability under federal rules, 60 cents per pound per article, and it's moving coverage, not insurance. Full value replacement is available through Baker International; Condor doesn't sell it in-house. Review the coverage options.
Packing is extra. We offer it as an add-on, either a full pack or a partial pack for the rooms you choose, such as dishes, clothes, holiday decorations, or the garage and attic.
Your Rights and Claims
Out-of-state moves are regulated by the FMCSA under our USDOT 1126171 and MC-458180, and you'll receive Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move. Moves within Texas fall under our TxDMV registration 006041428C. If anything is lost or damaged, we help you with the claim after the move. Start at file a claim.

Planning a PCS Move From San Antonio
Military moves have their own rhythm. This is a general planning order; your transportation office's instructions always come first.
As soon as you have orders
- Contact your installation's transportation office about your entitlements and the kind of move you're making.
- If you're arranging a move with us, book a Zoom survey and tell us your report date and destination installation.
Three to four weeks out
- Approve your binding estimate. If your situation requires a not-to-exceed estimate, ask for one.
- Lock in your pickup date, which is guaranteed. Decide whether a guaranteed delivery date (additional charge) is worth it for your report date.
- Ask us for weight tickets if your military move requires them.
One to two weeks out
- Sort what's going, what goes in your car and what's being sold or donated.
- Separate professional books, papers and equipment if your move paperwork asks you to list them separately.
- If you're living on base, arrange gate access for the crew and check commercial gate hours for your load day.
Moving week
- Keep orders, IDs, medical and school records, medication and valuables with you.
- Schedule your housing inspection or move-out walk-through after the truck has been loaded.
Arriving at a new installation
Most destination bases also need advance gate access for a delivery. Give us the installation, the housing office contact if you're moving into on-base housing, and your expected arrival date. If housing isn't ready, storage in transit can hold your shipment at our Fort Worth or Houston location until it is. The first 30 days are free; after that, it's billed monthly.
Retiring in San Antonio
Many service members retire near JBSA, in Schertz, Cibolo, Converse, Universal City, Helotes or Boerne. If you're coming back to San Antonio after a final assignment, tell us whether part of your household is already in storage, so we can plan the delivery.
Whether it's a PPM move, a retiree move or a government-arranged shipment, we can handle it.

San Antonio Moving FAQ
Can your crew get on base at Lackland or Fort Sam Houston?
Base access has to be arranged ahead of time through the installation's sponsorship process. Give us your installation and dates with your quote request, and we'll schedule loading inside commercial gate hours.
Do you provide weight tickets for military moves?
Yes. Military moves are the only moves that need them, and we can provide them when yours does.
Can I get next-day delivery from San Antonio to Houston or Dallas?
Yes. Next-day delivery is available on a dedicated truck for destinations within about an 8-hour drive, which includes Houston, Austin and DFW.
Do you offer local moves within San Antonio?
Yes. Local moves within the San Antonio area are hourly, from $175 per hour with a 4-hour minimum (3 hours of labor plus a 1-hour trip charge), on a binding estimate.
Should I avoid moving during Fiesta?
If you live downtown or near the parade routes, yes. Parade days close major streets for much of the day.
How is a move to Colorado Springs or Norfolk priced?
By the cubic feet of your shipment. The rate already includes the trip, and there's no separate distance line.
My new house in Stone Oak is behind a gate. What do you need?
The gate or HOA contact, any crew-list requirement, and the HOA's rules on truck parking and move hours.
Is packing included?
No, packing is an add-on. Furniture disassembly and reassembly is included.
