What to Expect Delivering in California
California deliveries have more moving parts than any other lane out of Texas. Parking permits, hillside streets, agricultural inspection and building rules all have to be handled before a trailer arrives. Here is what we sort out ahead of your date.
Street Parking Permits
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Berkeley and Oakland require a temporary no-parking permit to reserve curb space for a moving truck, applied for days in advance and posted on site. Without one the truck may have no legal place to stop. Tell us the delivery address early so the permit can be filed in time.
Hillside & Narrow Streets
Much of the Hollywood Hills, San Francisco, Berkeley, Laurel Canyon and coastal Marin cannot take a full tractor-trailer — grades are steep, turns are tight and some streets have posted weight limits. Where that is the case we shuttle the shipment in with a smaller truck, quoted upfront rather than added later.
Agricultural Inspection at the Border
California operates agricultural inspection stations on inbound highways, and houseplants, soil and certain produce are restricted or prohibited. Plants are generally not shipped on interstate moves. We will flag anything in your inventory that will not clear the border.
Building COIs & Elevator Windows
Condo and apartment buildings across Los Angeles, San Diego and the Bay Area require a certificate of insurance naming the building, a reserved service elevator and a booked move-in window, often on weekdays only. Send us the building requirements with your estimate request.
Transit Time on a Long Lane

Condor offers storage in transit for gaps between move-out and move-in. Your goods stay inventoried so the same shipment is redelivered without a second full pack. Tell your moving consultant if your closing or lease date is uncertain so the schedule is built with that in mind.
