Boerne Movers
German settlers camped along Cibolo Creek in 1849 and called their community Tusculum. Three years later, when the town was platted, they renamed it for the writer Ludwig Börne. Boerne is now the seat of Kendall County, 31 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio on I-10, and one of the fastest-growing towns in the Hill Country: 17,850 residents in 2020 and an estimated 24,047 in 2025. Fair Oaks Ranch lies along the creek between Boerne and San Antonio, and Bulverde sits to the east on US 281. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover that has sent its own crews and its own trucks to every job since 2003. We move households within Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch and Bulverde, between the Hill Country and San Antonio, and from here to other Texas cities and other states.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!
Boerne movers: local rates
A local move in Boerne is hourly, from $175 an hour for two movers and a truck. There is a four-hour minimum: three hours of labor and a one-hour trip charge, the same terms as on our San Antonio movers page. You get a binding estimate before move day showing the crew, the truck and the total. The foreman checks the inventory with you before loading, and anything not on the list goes on a revised estimate for you to sign. Out here the hours depend less on square footage than on access: how long the driveway is, how steep, and how far it is from the truck to the door.
Hill Country driveways and acreage
Many homes around Boerne are on acreage, with gravel or caliche drives, gates and slopes that a 26-foot truck has to manage. A little planning saves time on the day:
- Send photos. A picture of the driveway, the turnaround and the entry steps tells us more than an address.
- Gate codes and ranch roads. Tell us about locked gates, cattle guards and private roads ahead of time.
- Wet weather. Cibolo Creek and the low-water crossings around it can rise fast after heavy rain. We don't drive a loaded truck through high water, so a storm may shift the start time.
- Gated communities. Communities like Cordillera Ranch and Tapatio Springs have gated entries and HOA rules on trucks. Send us the rules.
Downtown Boerne has its own challenges. Older homes near Main Street and the Hill Country Mile walking path can have narrow doors and tight stairs, and the downtown streets get busy during events.
Fair Oaks Ranch and Bulverde
Fair Oaks Ranch is named for Ralph E. Fair Sr., an oilman and rancher whose ranch became the town. It was incorporated in 1988, sits on both sides of Cibolo Creek and reaches into Bexar, Comal and Kendall counties, with 9,833 residents at the 2020 census. Most homes are on large wooded lots with long drives. Bulverde, sometimes called the "Front Porch of the Texas Hill Country", started as Pieper Settlement in 1850 and grew from 5,692 residents in 2020 to an estimated 7,337 in 2025. US 281 is the main road south to San Antonio. Schools differ across the area: much of it is in Boerne ISD, while the Comal County parts, including Bulverde, are mostly in Comal ISD. Check the district for any address.
Retiring or downsizing in the Hill Country
Boerne draws retirees and people downsizing from larger homes, often with a lifetime of furniture to sort. We can move part of a household now and store the rest until you decide what to keep. Our senior movers page explains how we plan a downsizing move. If a job is bringing you here instead, we bill employers and relocation management companies directly; see our corporate relocation page.
Packing, crating and storage
Every move includes furniture pads and wrapping, plus taking apart and putting back together beds, tables and other bolted pieces. Particleboard isn't taken apart. Packing is an add-on priced separately, and we crate glass, marble, antiques and framed art. Storage is available at our Fort Worth or Houston location and is billed monthly. We move offices on evenings and weekends for an extra charge, and we tell you that charge when you book. See our packing and crating, moving and storage and office movers pages.
