Schertz-Cibolo-Converse Movers
Schertz, Cibolo and Converse surround Randolph Air Force Base on San Antonio's northeast side, part of the cluster of towns known as the Randolph Metrocom. Randolph opened in 1931, earned the nickname "the Showplace of the Air Force" for its Spanish Colonial Revival buildings, and in 2010 became part of Joint Base San Antonio. Schertz is the largest of the three, with 42,002 residents at the 2020 census. Cibolo more than doubled between 2010 and 2020, from 15,349 people to 32,276, and Converse counted 27,466. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover that has served Texas military families and civilians since 2003, using only our own crews and trucks. We handle local moves in the Metrocom, military moves on and off JBSA-Randolph, and long-distance moves to other Texas cities and other states.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!
What local moves cost in Schertz, Cibolo and Converse
Moves within the area are hourly: two movers and a truck start at $175 an hour. There is a four-hour minimum, made up of three hours of labor and a one-hour trip charge, the same terms as on our San Antonio movers page. You get a binding estimate before move day with the crew, the truck and the total. The foreman reviews the inventory with you first, and anything added gets a revised estimate you sign before loading. A move from base housing to a house in Cibolo, or from Converse to Schertz, is priced the same way.
Military moves near JBSA-Randolph
Many households here move on orders. Here is how we fit in, in plain terms. When a household goods shipment is government-funded, the transportation service provider is assigned through the Department of Defense moving program; you don't pick the mover. Condor does origin and destination services on government-funded shipments for prime providers. What you can book with us directly is a personally procured move (PPM), a partial PPM or a move you arrange yourself, and that is where most of our military work happens. Your installation transportation office can confirm which applies to you.
- Weight tickets. A PPM is reimbursed on certified empty and loaded weight tickets from a public scale. We weigh before and after loading and give you both tickets with the inventory.
- Gate access. Movers need to be vetted and sponsored before they can drive onto JBSA-Randolph. Send us your sponsor details with the estimate request so access is arranged in advance.
- Base housing. Privatized housing sets its own move-in windows and truck rules. Those come from the housing office, so send us both sets of rules.
- Storage between assignments. Storage is inventoried and palletized so it can be released in stages or held until you get back.
Our military movers page covers PCS planning, report dates and the installations we serve across Texas. You can read more about the base's history on Wikipedia's Randolph Air Force Base page.
Schertz
The town is named for the Alsatian family that settled here in the 1840s. It was once called "Cibolo Pit" and then "Cut Off", because the settlement was cut off when Cibolo Creek flooded. Schertz incorporated in 1958, and its original center is in Guadalupe County, but the city now extends north into Comal County and south into Bexar. Part of the Randolph base property is inside Schertz. Most homes are in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, and the newer subdivisions along FM 3009 and toward I-35 often have HOA rules on truck parking.
Cibolo and Converse
Cibolo sits on the north side of Cibolo Creek in western Guadalupe County, and new subdivisions off FM 78 and FM 1103 account for much of its growth. Expect new-build streets, builder walkthroughs and closing dates that can move. If a closing slips, we can store your things until you have the keys. Converse is in Bexar County, about 15 miles northeast of downtown San Antonio. Loop 1604 runs along its eastern edge and separates the city from the base, and most of Converse is in Judson ISD. I-35 through this corridor has been under major construction, so we allow extra time for lane shifts.
Packing, storage and office moves
Every move includes pads and wrapping for furniture, plus taking apart and reassembling beds, tables and other bolted pieces. Particleboard and flat-pack furniture are not taken apart. Packing is an add-on priced separately, and we crate glass, marble and framed pieces. Storage is available at our Fort Worth or Houston location and is billed monthly. We move offices on evenings and weekends for an extra charge, and we tell you that charge when you book. See our packing and crating, moving and storage and office movers pages. Civilian transferees whose employer pays can have us bill employers and relocation management companies directly.
Long-distance and PCS moves
Condor has its own interstate authority and does not broker moves, so the crew that loads you in Schertz, Cibolo or Converse is the crew that delivers.
- Out-of-state moves are priced by the volume of the shipment and start at $1,200, on a binding estimate.
- Moves within Texas, such as to Houston, Austin or Fort Worth, are billed by the hour.
- Delivery windows are planned around your report date, and storage in transit can cover the gap.
- Common PCS routes from here include Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Colorado. The full list is on our long-distance movers page.
Each interstate estimate comes with the federal booklet Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move.

Not directly. On a government-funded shipment the mover is assigned through the DoD moving program. You can book us directly for a PPM, a partial PPM or a move you arrange yourself.
Do you provide weight tickets for a PPM?
Yes. We get certified empty and loaded weight tickets from a public scale and give them to you with the inventory.
Can you get onto JBSA-Randolph?

Yes. Storage is inventoried and palletized at our Fort Worth or Houston location, billed monthly, and can be released in stages.
Do you need to visit my home for an estimate?
No. Most estimates are done by Zoom walkthrough, or from an inventory you go over with us by phone.
