A Slate Table Cannot Be Carried Out Whole
Each slab of a three-piece slate bed weighs 150 to 250 pounds, and the slate is the part that does not forgive mistakes.
Slate chips at the edges and cracks if it flexes, and a cracked slab is usually a replacement rather than a repair. The table comes apart in sequence — felt, rails, pockets, then the slate lifted individually and packed. Non-slate tables with an MDF bed are lighter but flex more, so they come apart the same way.

Pool table work splits into moving and billiards service, and they are not the same trade. Condor handles the moving side. Setting a table level and fitting new felt is billiards work, and we would rather say so than do it badly.

If the felt comes off, plan on new felt. It rarely survives removal in a condition worth refitting, and a billiards fitter will normally re-felt and level in the same visit once the table is in the room.

Tables We Move
Moving in Texas presents logistical challenges that aren't always obvious when requesting a quote. Building restrictions, truck access, traffic, weather and distance from the truck to your door can all affect moving time. Here's what we consider when planning a Texas move.
Three-Piece Slate
The most common household table. Each slab weighs 150 to 250 pounds and is lifted and packed individually, never stacked flat. Four movers as standard, more where stairs are involved.
One-Piece Slate
Older and heavier, with a single bed that cannot be split. These are considerably harder to get through doorways and down stairs, and some rooms simply cannot be exited with one. Tell us early.
Non-Slate & MDF Tables
Lighter, but the bed flexes and will warp if carried unsupported or stored on edge. They come apart the same way and are packed flat and supported.
Shuffleboard & Air Hockey
Long, rigid and awkward rather than heavy. A shuffleboard table is quoted the same way as a pool table and should be listed separately when you request your estimate.
Stairs & Access
Slate down a flight of stairs is the most common point of damage on a pool table move, to the slate and to the stairwell. Additional crew is used, and photographs of the route help us bring the right equipment.
After the Move
Once the table is in the room, levelling and re-felting are billiards work. We can leave the components assembled or boxed, whichever suits your fitter.

How much does it cost to move a pool table?
A pool table is priced per table rather than by cubic foot, because the work is driven by the slate, the access and the stairs. Tell us the size, whether the slate is one-piece or three-piece, and the stairs at both ends, and you get the number in writing before the date.
Can a pool table be moved without taking it apart?
Not a slate one. A three-piece slate table runs 700 to 1,000 pounds with each slab at 150 to 250, and the slate cracks if the frame flexes. It comes apart in sequence — felt, rails, pockets, then the slate lifted individually and packed. Non-slate tables come apart the same way because the bed warps if carried unsupported.
Do you reassemble and level the table?
Disassembly, packing, transport and delivery are the standard service. Reassembly can be quoted on request, but re-leveling is specialist billiards work and is not offered as standard. If you need the table set up and playing, arrange a billiards fitter for after the delivery, or tell us at booking so it can be discussed.
Will I need new felt?
Almost certainly, if the felt has to come off. It rarely survives removal in a condition worth refitting. Most billiards fitters will re-felt and level in the same visit once the table is in the room, so it is worth booking them together.
Can you take the old table out of my new house?
Only if you ask. Removing a table already in the new home is not part of a standard delivery and is quoted separately. Tell us when you book so the crew and the time are allowed for.
Can you get a slate table down stairs?
Usually, with additional crew. Slate on stairs is where most pool table damage happens, to the slate and to the stairwell, so photographs of the route and the stairs matter here more than on almost any other item.
