Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.

Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!

These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!

Moving Between Texas and Washington Since 2003

Condor Moving Systems is a licensed interstate mover that handles household and office relocations between Texas and Washington in both directions.

Washington is the longest haul out of Texas — roughly 1,900 to 2,300 miles depending on the pair of cities, crossing the Rockies on the way. Distance drives the price and the schedule on this lane more than anything else. Your shipment is inventoried and tagged at pickup, travels on our equipment, and is delivered by a crew working from that same inventory.

Condor operates from locations in Fort Worth and Houston and serves the entire state of Texas, running its own trucks and crews rather than subcontracted labor.

The route

How Far Is It From Texas to Washington?

A Texas to Washington move covers roughly 1,900 to 2,300 miles depending on which Texas city you leave and where in Washington you land — the longest lane out of Texas. Interstate moves are scheduled with a delivery spread rather than a single guaranteed date, because a trailer carries more than one household. Your estimate states the window for your specific route and dates.

Pricing

How Much Does It Cost to Move From Texas to Washington?

An interstate move is priced on the weight or volume of your shipment plus mileage — not by the hour. That is the key difference from a local move. A crew billed hourly has an incentive to work slowly; a shipment priced on weight and distance does not, which is why interstate moves are quoted this way.

What Determines Your Price

  • Weight or volume of the shipment
  • Distance between origin and destination
  • Packing services, full or partial
  • Packing materials and custom crating
  • Specialty items such as pianos or safes
  • Stairs, elevators and long carries at either end
  • Shuttle service where a tractor-trailer cannot reach
  • Storage in transit, if dates do not line up
  • Valuation coverage you select
  • Time of year and date flexibility

How to Keep the Cost Down

  • Purge before the estimate, not after — you pay to move weight
  • Book outside the May to August peak if you can
  • Give a flexible delivery window rather than a fixed date
  • Pack what you reasonably can yourself
  • Take an accurate inventory so the estimate is not padded
  • Sort out condo and HOA paperwork early to avoid a wasted trip
  • Ask about consolidating with another shipment on the same lane
  • Measure oversized furniture against the new doorways first

Interstate household moves are regulated by the FMCSA. Condor provides the federal Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move booklet with interstate estimates, and your written estimate shows the expected charges before loading day.

At the Washington end

What to Expect Delivering in Washington

Washington is the longest lane out of Texas, and almost everything about it follows from that. Transit time, mountain passes, seasonal weather and the way Seattle neighbourhoods are built all shape the delivery. Here is what we plan for.

A Genuine Long Haul

At roughly 2,000 miles this is the longest route we run from Texas, and the delivery spread is correspondingly wider than on a Gulf Coast or Southwest lane. Pack a suitcase accordingly and plan for the gap between move-out and delivery rather than assuming a next-day arrival.

Mountain Passes & Winter Closures

The route crosses the Rockies and then the Cascades — Snoqualmie, Stevens or Blewett Pass depending on the destination. From November through March those passes close or require chains at short notice. Conditions are monitored ahead of your date and a shipment is held rather than run into a closure.

Seattle Hills & Narrow Streets

Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, Magnolia, Fremont and Ballard have steep grades, narrow streets, on-street parking on both sides and houses set well above or below the road. A loaded tractor-trailer often cannot reach the address, so the shipment is shuttled in with a smaller truck.

Street Use Permits

Seattle requires a permit to reserve curb space for a moving truck on many streets, applied for in advance and posted at the location. Without one there may be no legal place to stop. Tell us the delivery address early so the permit can be filed in time.

Building COIs & Elevator Windows

Condo and apartment buildings across Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma require a certificate of insurance naming the building, a reserved service elevator and a booked move-in window, often weekdays only. Send us the building requirements with your estimate request.

Rain, Damp & Unpaved Access

Western Washington rain is persistent rather than dramatic, and cardboard left standing on a wet driveway fails quickly. Crews stage under cover where they can. Rural properties on the Olympic Peninsula, in the Cascade foothills and east of the mountains are often reached by gravel road that a loaded trailer cannot use.

Process

How an Interstate Move Works

  1. Step 1

    Survey

An in-home or virtual walkthrough of every room, closet, garage and attic, so the estimate is built on your actual inventory.

  2. Step 2

    Written Estimate

You receive the expected charges in writing, with packing, materials, access and any shuttle itemized rather than added later.

  3. Step 3

    Schedule Locked

On approval we reserve the crew and equipment, confirm your delivery window and start on any condo or HOA paperwork.

  4. Step 4

    Pack & Load

Everything is padded, inventoried and tagged. You get a copy of the inventory before the trailer leaves.

  5. Step 5

    Delivery in Washington

We check the shipment in against that same inventory, place furniture in the rooms you designate and reassemble what we took apart.

Questions

Texas to Washington Moving FAQ

How much does it cost to move from Texas to Washington?

An interstate move from Texas to Washington is priced on the weight or volume of your shipment plus the mileage, not by the hour. Because this is the longest lane out of Texas at roughly 2,000 miles, distance carries more weight in the price than on any other route. Packing, access at both ends, street permits and any shuttle also factor in. Condor provides a written estimate showing the expected charges before your shipment is loaded.

How long does a move from Texas to Washington take?

The driving distance runs roughly 1,900 to 2,300 miles depending on which Texas city you leave and where in Washington you are heading. Interstate moves are scheduled with a delivery spread rather than a single guaranteed date, and the window on this lane is the widest of any route out of Texas. Your estimate states the window for your specific route and dates.

Can you move to Washington in winter?

Yes, with the caveat that the route crosses the Rockies and the Cascades. Snoqualmie, Stevens and Blewett passes can close or require chains at short notice between November and March. Conditions are monitored ahead of your date, and a shipment already in transit is held in secure storage rather than run into an active closure.

Do I need a street use permit for my Seattle delivery?

Often yes. Seattle requires a permit to reserve curb space for a moving truck on many streets, applied for in advance and posted at the location. Without one there may be no legal place for the truck to stop. Tell us the delivery address when you request your estimate so the permit can be arranged in time.

Can a full-size truck reach my Seattle address?

Frequently not. Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, Magnolia, Fremont and Ballard have steep grades, narrow streets with parking on both sides, and homes set well above or below the road. Where a loaded tractor-trailer cannot reach the address safely, the shipment is shuttled in with a smaller truck, quoted upfront rather than added later.

Is Condor Moving Systems licensed for interstate moves?

Yes. Condor Moving Systems operates under USDOT 1126171 and MC 458180 for interstate moves and TxDMV 006041428C within Texas. Interstate household moves are regulated by the FMCSA, and Condor provides the federal Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move booklet with interstate estimates.

What if my Washington home is not ready when my shipment arrives?

Condor offers storage in transit for gaps between move-out and move-in, which is worth planning for on a lane this long. Your goods stay inventoried so the same shipment is redelivered without a second full pack. Tell your moving consultant if your closing or lease date is uncertain.
