Prosper Movers
Prosper picked its name in 1902, the year its farms had a strong crop. It was a railroad stop between Dallas and Sherman and incorporated as a town in 1914. For most of the next century it stayed small. The 2010 census counted 9,423 people, and the 2020 census counted 30,174. By July 2024 the Census Bureau estimated 44,503, an increase of almost half in four years. The town spans Collin and Denton counties along US 380. Most Prosper moves we see are into houses that have just been built, but we also move Prosper families out of town and out of state. Condor Moving Systems is a Fort Worth moving company owned by a woman. If you're comparing moving companies in Prosper, TX, note that we hold our own interstate authority, so our movers in Prosper, TX handle local and out-of-state moves. We have been in business since 2003, and we use our own crews and trucks.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.Thomas C Davison
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!Denis Tanney
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!Marks Josephine
Local movers in Prosper, TX: pricing
Our rate is $175 an hour for two movers with a truck. There is a four-hour minimum, which covers three hours of labor and the trip charge. Prosper is one of the farthest towns we serve from our yard, and the trip charge here may exceed 1 hour. Your binding estimate shows the trip charge, the crew size, the truck count and the price, in writing, before move day. When the crew arrives, the foreman reviews the estimate with you. If the inventory has changed, he revises it in writing before anything goes on the truck.
Windsong Ranch, Star Trail and Gentle Creek
- Windsong Ranch. This development covers more than 2,000 acres on the north side of US 380, about 2.5 miles west of the tollway, in Denton County. Its 5-acre resident lagoon opened in 2019. The plan includes about 3,300 single-family homes plus villas and townhomes. Many sections are still being built, so expect construction trucks on the streets. Check the HOA's rules for moving trucks and pods.
- Star Trail. This master-planned community of about 900 acres, with roughly 1,800 homes, is just north of US 380, west of the Dallas North Tollway. Lots range from 55 to 86 feet wide. On narrower lots, the driveway and the street in front are where the truck goes, so tell your neighbors on move day.
- Gentle Creek Estates. This gated golf community is built around the 18-hole Gentle Creek Golf Club. Custom homes, many over 4,000 square feet, sit on half-acre to one-acre lots. Send the gate code ahead of time. For a large house, ask whether a third mover or a second truck shortens the day.
The Glenbrooke and Doe Creek neighborhoods in far west Prosper are zoned to Denton ISD instead of Prosper ISD. A Prosper address alone doesn't tell you which district a home is in.
Moving into new construction in Prosper
Prosper ISD shows how fast the town is filling up. It had 14,287 students in 2018–19 and 32,197 in 2025–26. It now has four high schools, including Walnut Grove, which opened in 2023, and Rock Hill, which is across the line in Frisco. New houses mean new move-day problems, and movers in Prosper, TX run into these most:
- Closing dates slip. If the builder pushes back your closing, we can load your current home on schedule and hold your belongings at our Fort Worth warehouse. Storage is priced monthly, not as a flat rate. See moving and storage.
- The street may not exist on maps yet. Send us a map pin, or the lot and block number from your contract.
- Unfinished driveways and sod. Our in-state trucks are 26-foot box trucks. If fresh concrete, a soft lot or a tight cul-de-sac keeps one from reaching the house, we'll quote a shuttle truck, starting at $450, during the survey. You won't find out on move day.
- HOA move rules. Builders often run the HOA at first. Ask them about truck-parking hours and notice periods.
Moving out of state from Prosper
When a Prosper family sells and leaves, the move is usually a full house going a long way. Condor runs these moves itself under its own interstate authority (USDOT 1126171 · MC-458180). We don't hand them to a broker, which is the first question to ask any long distance movers in Texas. What to know:
- How it's priced. A move to another state costs what your shipment's cubic footage comes to, not what the crew's hours add up to. The starting price is $1,200 for up to 200 cubic feet. We survey every room, closet and the garage, then put a binding price in writing.
- In-state moves. A move from Prosper to Houston, Austin or San Antonio is billed hourly, the same way as a local job.
- Timing. The estimate gives you a delivery spread. If the buyer's closing and your new home's closing don't line up, we can hold the shipment in storage in transit.
- Where people go. Common lanes include Texas to Florida, Texas to Tennessee, Texas to Oklahoma and Texas to Arizona. Our long-distance movers page lists every state we serve.

Getting to Prosper from Fort Worth
Crews leave from 4009 E Loop 820 S, Fort Worth, TX 76119. They take SH 183 and SH 121 to the Sam Rayburn Tollway. From there they head north on the Dallas North Tollway, or on FM 423 for the west side of town:
- Windsong Ranch: 50 miles, about 67 minutes
- Downtown Prosper (Town Hall): 54 miles, about 64 minutes
Those are no-traffic times. The tollway currently ends at First Street, one mile north of US 380. NTTA is extending it through Prosper and Celina to FM 428 and plans to open that section in late 2027. Until then, construction along Dallas Parkway north of US 380 can slow a move, and we plan for it. So can home football games at Children's Health Stadium, Prosper ISD's 12,000-seat stadium, if your street is nearby.
