Plano Movers
Plano is the largest city in Collin County. It is about 17 miles north of downtown Dallas, between US 75 on the east and the Dallas North Tollway on the west, with the Bush Turnpike crossing the south and the Sam Rayburn Tollway the north. Unlike Frisco or Prosper, Plano is mostly built out: the Census Bureau estimated 293,286 residents in July 2024, only about 8,000 more than in 2020. What keeps movers busy here is turnover. People take jobs at the Legacy corridor headquarters, rent apartments near them, sell older homes, downsize or transfer out of state. We handle the local moves and the long-distance ones. If you're comparing moving companies in Plano, TX, check who actually does the work. Condor Moving Systems is a woman-owned mover that has moved North Texas households from Fort Worth since 2003, and our movers in Plano, TX are our own employees on our own trucks.

Punctual, good and professional. Condor Moving System is my go-to moving guys now. Fairly priced for the level of professional moving service they provide to their customers. They were very good in communication to me and among themselves. I have had many bad experiences with multiple movers before it. Condor is the first ever company that I found nobody to complain about, which is maybe a pretty rare thing to say about relocators.Thomas C Davison
Movers did a great moving job even though it was a not smooth and it's a very long job. Best value for the money we spend. They stayed professional and were kind throughout the move process. They recognized my items and if I needed to change the things, they did it for me rapidly. Very friendly teamwork. Will surly use them again!Denis Tanney
These movers did a best job even though it was a tough and time taking job. Best value for the money it cost. Stayed professional and were helpful throughout the day of move. Honored my goods and if I required things changed they did it for me in little time. Very coordinated teamwork. Will definitely use them again for coming movers!Marks Josephine
Local movers in Plano, TX: rates and your binding estimate
You pay $175 per hour for a two-mover crew and a truck. Local jobs carry a four-hour minimum: three hours of labor plus a trip charge, which for Plano may exceed 1 hour because of the distance from our yard. Whatever applies to your move appears on your binding estimate, along with the crew size and the price, before we schedule anything. On move day the foreman checks the inventory against the estimate. If you've added items, he writes up a revised estimate for you to sign before the truck is loaded.
Legacy West, Legacy Town Center and corporate relocation in Plano
Toyota Motor North America moved its headquarters to Plano from Torrance, California, to a 100-acre campus near Legacy Drive. Legacy West opened beside it in 2017 on former JCPenney land, bounded by the Sam Rayburn Tollway to the north and the Dallas North Tollway to the east. It added more than 1,300 apartments above its shops and offices, and the surrounding area hosts JPMorgan Chase and Liberty Mutual regional offices. Frito-Lay and Pizza Hut are also headquartered in Plano.
Many of these households arrive on an employer's relocation package or a lease with a fixed start date. Apartment and mid-rise buildings around Legacy West and Legacy Town Center usually require:
- A freight-elevator or loading-dock reservation, often in a set time window.
- A certificate of insurance naming the building's management company. We'll issue it ahead of time once we have the exact wording.
- Garage clearance information. Our in-state trucks are 26 feet long, so a truck may have to load at the curb or the dock instead of in the garage. We check this during the survey. If a shuttle truck is truly the only option, it starts at $450, and we quote it before you book.
For corporate relocation in Plano, see corporate relocation. We move offices after hours and on weekends for an added charge, which we tell you up front. See office movers. We bill employers and relocation management companies directly.
Moving out of state from Plano
Plano's headquarters move people out as well as in. Toyota came here from Torrance, California, and the banks and insurers along the Legacy corridor transfer staff between offices in other states. We're a direct interstate mover, not a broker. One Condor crew loads in Plano, and the same company delivers. That's worth checking with any long distance movers in Texas you're considering.
- Volume-based price. Moves out of Texas are priced per cubic foot of your shipment, starting at $1,200 with a 200 cubic foot minimum. The binding estimate comes from a full inventory, so your HR team or relocation company sees the final number before loading.
- Texas moves are hourly. Plano to Houston, Austin or San Antonio is an in-state move, billed by the hour on a binding estimate.
- A stated delivery window. Interstate shipments are scheduled with a delivery spread, and storage in transit covers a gap between your lease end and move-in.
- Lanes with their own pages. See Texas to California, Texas to Illinois, Texas to New York and Texas to North Carolina. The full list is on our long-distance movers page, and out-of-state movers covers the basics.
West Plano: Willow Bend, Deerfield and Hunters Glen
- Willow Bend Polo Estates. This electric-gated enclave in ZIP 75093 has custom homes built in the mid-1990s on land that was once the Willow Bend Polo and Hunt Club. Send us the gate code and plan for long driveways and heavy furniture.
- Deerfield. This neighborhood near Legacy Drive and Preston Road is known for its holiday light displays. If you move in December, expect evening sightseeing traffic and parked cars on the streets.
- Hunters Glen. An established custom-home area in the middle of the city. Older homes like these often have full attics and garages, and those trips add labor time, so include them in your walkthrough.
East Plano, downtown and Collin Creek
Downtown Plano's historic core sits along 14th and 15th Streets around Haggard Park and the DART station. It's a walkable district, so where the truck parks and loads is something we work out during the survey. South of downtown along US 75, the former Collin Creek Mall, closed since 2019, is being rebuilt with townhomes and apartments. Some streets there are still under construction. Farther northeast, Oak Point Park covers about 800 acres and hosts the Plano Balloon Festival each September. Expect slow traffic in that area during the festival.
Plano ISD sorts grades differently: grades 9 and 10 attend a high school, and grades 11 and 12 attend one of three senior high schools. The district closed four campuses in summer 2025 and redrew its attendance boundaries, so confirm the schools zoned to your new address.
Moving services in Plano, TX: packing, furniture and storage
Our moving services in Plano start with the basics. Standard disassembly is included, such as bed frames and table legs. Particleboard and flat-pack furniture are not. Packing is an optional add-on, priced on your estimate. If you're downsizing, you can have us pack just the china, books and garage. See packing and crating. If you're moving from a house into an apartment and need somewhere for the overflow, we offer storage at our Fort Worth warehouse at a monthly rate, not a flat rate. See moving and storage.
Driving from Fort Worth to Plano
We leave from 4009 E Loop 820 S, Fort Worth, TX 76119. West Plano jobs usually go up SH 183 and SH 121. Jobs east of US 75 usually take Loop 12, I-35E and I-635 to Central Expressway:
- The Shops at Willow Bend: 41 miles, about 51 minutes
- Legacy West: 42 miles, about 51 minutes
- Downtown Plano (DART station): 48 miles, about 56 minutes
- Oak Point Park: 52 miles, about 62 minutes
Those times are without traffic. I-635 and US 75 at rush hour can add a lot, so we usually start Plano jobs early in the morning.
